BeSC Belfast e-Science Centre

Background

Belfast e-Science is sited within the Queen's University of Belfast and was established as part of the UK e-Science Programme. BeSC has focused on both Academic and Commercial applications of grid and next generation web services.

BeSC's technical resources consist of more than 60 computers sited in 2 locations in Belfast, 1 location in London and in a commercial BT data centre. BeSC has a dedicated 1 Gigabit Janet connection to provide high-speed access to these resources.
